CALLING ALL COOKS!!
|
|
Do you make chili, beans or ribs? Have you ever entered a contest to find out exactly how good they are? well, here is your chance! on March 20, 2010, we will be hosting our SPRINGTIME CHILI, BEANS AND RIBS COOKOFF and it is opened to the public and if you don't cook, you can join us by eating some of the tasty foods. |
THE RULES:
1. All cooking has to be done on site. You need to have a grill or a pit and furnish all the necessary ingredients.
2. The only chili acceptable is TEXAS CHILI which means NO BEANS are allowed in your chili. The meat for the chili is your choice and you can use whatever spices you choose. |
|
3. the beans have to be PINTO beans so you need to allow yourself extra time for cooking the beans.
4. RIBS, if they need marinating, can be marinated at home but not cooked at home.
you can arrive as early as you want to set up your cooking camp; some might even spend the night. The Hangin Tree will open its doors around 7am.
JUDGING TIMES: We furnish containers for your entries and we will pick up at these times:
Chili.........3pm Beans........3:15 Ribs .......3:30
The judging should be finished by 4pm and at that time we will announce the winners.
PRIZES: The entry fee is $10 per item cooked( some people will cook two or three entries). You do not prepay the entry fee. Just start your cooking and we will be around to collect later.
