ALR 593 WHERE THE HELL IS Converse Texas ?

there is a small town near by you may know San Antonio Texas.

And in the beginning there was Eleven.

The American Legion Riders are a diverse group of motorcycle enthusiasts sharing common goals. All are members or spouses of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of The American Legion—and all are united by patriotism. They answer the call to ride in service to America’s military, her veterans, and for the children and youth of our country. We formed our Legion Riders group with only 11 members, our founding members were Dennis Ducharme, Ruben Aguirre, Terry and Velma Smith, Larry Metcalf, Ron White, Geroge & Pam Fremeyer, Dan & Tina Pirofsky and Jeffery Casey. We worked together and developed our structure following guide lines set by the National Guidlines. By laws were developed and Officers were appointed.

I t didn't take long following that first meeting 19 March 2004 for our group to grow from ten to one hundred members, it is truely amazing the growth we expericed in short amount of time. Our members are great supporters of our community, State and Nation.

We spend much of our time planning rides in support of our troops and wounded warriors located right next door at Ft. Sam Houston Tx. BAMC Brooks Army Medical Center. We continue our efforts in support of the family members of these wounded warriors housed at the Fisher House. Operation Wounded Warrior, and The Texas Honor ride is only two of the many projects we support to provide comfort items and goods to. We are very dedicated to our efforts to raise funds and awareness for fallen heros and the Legacy they left to our care the Great American Citizens, the least we can do is see to it they get the type of education they themselves would have wanted for their children.

So will you help us in our efforts to raise funds for these children that have already at such a young age given so much by standing behind the parent that gave all they had so we can live the lives we choose.

God Bless you each and everyone.
The American Legion Rider

When our country is harmed, there are those that respond.
With honor and duty they're sent.
In war and in peace, with strength and resolve,
It's the blood of the soldier that's spent.

We fight and some die, on those foreign lands.
With freedom and God at our side.
And when our service is done, we need to keep on,
So we join the Legion that rides.

The souls of the fallen and breath of the living,
Bestow Gods blessings on this country's side.
So with flags held aloft, and the sounds of thunder,
We join the Legion that rides.

When our day is past, and our duty is done
God's angels will ask, "Have you been a provider?"
"What have you done for your country and man?"
I'll answer with pride, "I'm an American Legion Rider"
